MADE TO ORDER

Ilana Atelier caters to brides from around the globe. This will serve as a guide on how to request a custom made dress if you live overseas. We’ll provide more information as we move along the process.

For local brides, the same process will apply except appointments are in-person. Please feel free to contact us for any questions.

01

SAY HELLO

Say hello in an email (Instagram, Facebook or Line is okay too) and book a friendly chat with our Creative Director. Please provide at least two (2) time availability options and we’ll confirm a date with you. You can also book an appointment through our website.

02

FRIENDLY CHAT

We get to know you and what you like. We’ll discusssilhouettes, fabric choices and your style preferences. We encourage you to check our collection prior to our chat so we can explore ideas on designs and embellishments. Exciting!

03

DESIGN

If you’re happy to go ahead, we’ll send you the proposed design(s) and quote. Generally, this is a time to exchange more ideas and refine the details of your dream dress. Our Creative Director will send the final design.

04

GREEN LIGHT

Once you give us the green light, we’ll request a 50% non-refundable deposit and send you a measurement guide via email.

05

MEASUREMENTS

We’ll arrange an online meeting to take your measurements and reconfirm your choice of fabric and embellishments.

06

FITTING KIT

Once we have your measurements, we’ll send you a Fitting Kit. The kit contains a fitting garment and materials. The fitting garment is the base of the fabric without any of the overlay treatments. If you’ve selected beadwork, we’ll have samples ready so you can visualise the design. We refine the details, while checking your silhouette, tailoring to your shape and adjusting measurements. The fitting garment is shipped to our atelier to use as a reference for production.

07

CREATION

We begin production as soon as we receive your fitting garment. We’ll create your dress based on the chosen fabric. We’ll also prepare the embellishments (if any). As design components come together, we’ll send you photos for feedback and approval. Our standard production time prior to your first fitting is usually 2 months.

08

FITTING

At this stage, we double check any adjustments to your dress. We continue to reshape it (if required) perfecting the lines and fit on your body. This ensures you are comfortable and at the same time the dress fits impeccably. We’ll discuss shoes, accessories and veil options if requested.

09

FINAL FITTING

You have six (6) weeks before your wedding. At this point, hand finishing is all done including buttons, loops and any beadwork. We mark out trains and hems to complete the dress, so it’s important you have your shoes for this meeting. Finishing touches such as a custom veil is done.

For brides getting married in the Philippines, we suggest that you organise your final fitting in our atelier. Our team is available for any last minute minor adjustments required.

10

COMPLETION

Your dress is completed and packaged. We’ll request for the payment of the remaining balance and arrange shipment. We aim to deliver your dress approximately four (4) weeks before your wedding day.

Please note that this guide may change from time to time at our discretion.
